Who nominates Michael Badnarik?

I hear the voices and they are getting louder.
"We want Michael Badnarik in the poll," they chant.

In every election there is a third party candidate that always stands out. Call him the underdog....an unlikely candidate who is struggling to get ahead in the race. In 2004 Elections, there is a toss-up between Ralph Nader and Michael Badnarik as the two third party candidates to go neck-and-neck for a chance in becoming a major contender.

But while Badnarik has 1% in presidential polls, Nader holds 4.6%. So my question for all you bloggers is this, should Badnarik be added to our poll? Does he have enough influence on the people, even though he is not mentioned in most polls?

This presidential blog wants to be fair and let people voice their opinion. Like we mentioned before at the beginning of the blog, we want a place where different points-of-view can be discussed. From looking at all the comments, I can see that there is more bashing going on than friendly discussions. Let's keep the comments less directed at the blogger who posts and more directed at the issues.

Bush tells Florida about Castro's Devious Practices

fidel_and_bush.jpg
Bush is back in the state that gave him his 2000 victory.
Today, he is accusing Castro of exploiting Cuba's children
by selling sex-tours to the impoverished nation.

What would happen to Fidel Castro if Fidel Castro said
that George Bush is a Child Molester or Fidel Castro
was found saying that John Kerry is a Child Molester?

Softvote's Poll shows Bush currently leading Florida with 46.86%
of the vote against Kerry's 45.26%.

Same-Sex Marriage Ammendment Bites The Dust

Republican Efforts to pass a constitutional amendment that will ban same-sex marriage failed today. This is a setback for Bush, but Senator Brownback of Kansas insists that, "marriage is a union between a man and a woman". The republicans plan to keep on fighting. Their mission is to ban same sex marriage.

Current presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry of Massacheussets opposes the ammendment. Kerry initially said he does not support same-sex marriage, but Kerry admitted that he is against a US Constitutional ban on gay marriage. Is that too politically correct?

Post a comment and tell us what you think.

Nader: The Little Engine That Could

nader_blog.jpg

That's the story of Ralph Nader, an unlikely candidate who has managed to gain 4% in polls and is trying with all his might to out perform Bush and Kerry. Even though he has achieved fame as a consumer advocate, compared to the other major candidates, he has not been able to collect enough funds to meet the demands of his campaign and he hasn't been receiving much media coverage.

So why is he still in the game?
Some people say that in the 2000 presidential run, Nader was to blame for leading the elections in favor of Bush. Now, people continue to say that the only reason that Nader is back is because his presence alone drives votes from Kerry and sends it to Bush's direction. Does anybody see it that way?

Bush Is Not Staying Behind

Even though polls show that Bush's numbers have dropped, he should be expecting an increase around Election Day. This is because the economy has recently brightened and the job market is picking up as well. A surging economy is a good factor that goes for Bush's favor. He is trying to show the American people the progress he has made, unless something like the war against Iraq overshadows his attempts for reelection.

Kerry Continues to Soar

Hi, everybody. Will Bill here. See a lot of people making way with the commentaries.

Kerry is still up on the polls. A July 8-11 The Gallup Organization poll showed Kerry leading Bush 50% to 46%. In a matter of weeks, Kerry, with his optimism and I'm-for-the-American-people attitude, has made voters flock to his side.

Bush, on the other hand, is not scoring points with Americans since most people believe that he should not be reelected because of the war and for causing an even greater blow on an uneven recovering economy.

"Fahrenheit 9/11": How Bush became the #1 Hated Man

Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" has broken box office records as the most lucrative documentary. Good for Moore but bad for Bush. Even though we don't like to admit it sometimes we sway our opinion towards by what the media says and by what the film industry finds acceptable. Right now its cool to hate Bush, more so than ever. In "Fahrenheit 9/11", Bush is made fun of clip after clip by Moore and seen as a rambling buffoon.

Herman Munster's Long Lost Twin

herman_munster2.jpg

Kerry really does look like Herman Munster. I found this image at blogsforbush.com. If anybody has funny pictures of any of the major candidates, please post them up so we can all have some laughs.

Kerry picks John Edwards for his Vice President

"On July 6, presumed Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry invited North Carolina Senator John Edwards to be his running mate in the 2004 presidential campaign.Edwards, a rival of Kerry during the 2004 presidential primary season, accepted the offer during a telephone conversation on the morning of July 6. Kerry announced his decision first in an e-mail to his supporters and then at a Pittsburgh rally."(http://usinfo.state.gov/dhr/Archive/2004/Jul/06-648242.html)

By finally picking John Edwards for his VP candidate, Kerry is closing in on the polls and leaving Bush in the dust. Lately, Bush hasn't been doing good since polls show Bush with the lowest job approval rating of presidency. Let's see how things shape up for the contenders. And where is Nader in all of this?

Bad News for Bush

sad_bush.jpg
Bush is getting into dangerous territory. Polls show bad re-election numbers for Bush. Kerry is leading 47% to 44% and they are tied in a three-way race with Ralph Nader. The disapproval for Bush keeps growing while Kerry scores points with the American people.

Greetings Bloggers!

Welcome to SoftVote's Presidential Blog (SPB), a place where Americans (and other nationalities as well) can openly talk about their views towards anything related to the 2004 U.S. presidential elections.

Allow me to introduce the team....let's start with me. My name is Truck and you will see me now and then pocking my head throughout SPB as the Chief Blogger. Then we have Wild Bill and Elouise who are members of SPB and will be regularly monitoring the commentaries. We are all eager to blog and hopefully other bloggers will want to join our community.

SPB's goal is not to have a political arena dividing blogger against blogger, but to have a common place where different points-of-view can be discussed. We certainly do not intend to have a platform for bloggers to argue amongst each other.

We'll be posting interesting findings like articles, excerpts, political jokes and, of course, add our own thoughts on it. We want to hear your opinion. We also encourage you to post your own ideas and contribute to making this an exciting experience.

Truck
Chief Blogger
